9:47 am – Finally on the 'dog' to Las Vegas: an eight-hour tour. Rest break outside of Cove Fort, spots of fire-damaged forest in the immediate distance. Breakfast burrito for brunch.
4:20 pm – In Arizona, but not for long. Beautiful scenery traveling thru the Virgin River Gorge on Interstate 15. Intense driving!
