The Mama's Special Sandwich is impressive and a value for what you get. Built on a soft focaccia roll, TR's piles on two fried eggs, ham, bacon, sausage patties, and two slices of American cheese. The synergy excites my palate! No other breakfast sandwich in town, no matter how fancy or well built, can elicit such praise.
Biscuits and sausage gravy are plentiful and tasty. Par for what one would expect from a neighborhood bar and quite filling.
The breakfast burrito offers up familiar components: scrambled egg and cheese with meats and veggies of your choice, then grilled until the tortilla is toasty and crisp. A thick, tomatoey salsa completes the package.
An omelet, mixed up with meats and veggies of your choice and shredded cheese is simple, homey, and delicious. Offered with a side of crispy hash browns and toast, its perfect with TR's make-your-own Bloody Mary bar and a beerback with Exile Brewing's Betty on tap.
Thom Ruan, TR's founder, passed away on Jan. 30. From all the online condolences I've read, it goes without saying that Thom is dearly missed by family, friends, and the employees and patrons of TR's. In remembrance, please consider a memorial contribution to the American Diabetes Association, and raise a glass in his honor.
