They're always experimenting with sandwich builds behind the counter at B&B Grocery, Meat & Deli, located on the corner of Hartford & S.E. Sixth. One of their recent creations is the Sloppy Mike Killer, named after the sandwich crafter who conceived this rough beast. For fans of grinders and tube meats, it's best of both worlds!
Sauced housemade Italian sausage tops off a zippy Louisiana Hot Polish. Topped with slices of mozzarella – then melted in what I would identify as a salamander broiler – its a formidable sandwich. Ask for the Polish grilled, the crackling of the casing is an extra delight.
While you're at it ask for an order of chippers, B&B's deep-fried take on the kettle-cooked potato chip. All crunch, quite good with ketchup.
