Apple pie, oh my at Center Grove Orchard (donuts and cider too!)

The Bakery and Hay Cafe at Center Grove Orchard offers a variety of eats, with an obvious focus on apple-flavored baked goods A slice of apple pie, left and center, is quite delicious despite the aesthetics of serving it in a clamshell container. Large pieces of tender fruit abound! The Coffee Shop at Center Grove Orchard serves up a very good drip coffee, along with espresso beverages, frappes, smoothies, and apple cider served either cold or hot. Right, I enjoyed this tart, lightly spiced cider while taking a stroll around the farm yard.

Solely focused on having pie I was not expecting to find apple cider donuts, which are in fact very good! Light apple flavor, firm cake crumb, and a nicely browned exterior. I bought a twelve-pack to go. Center Grove Orchard is located five miles west of Interstate 35 on Iowa Highway 210 just past Cambridge.
