A
magnificent namesake calzone from Centro, left and
center, with mozzarella, ricotta, provolone, Parmesan, and Graziano Brothers'
Italian sausage. Thin, as I prefer, with a nice balance of crisp
and chew. Right, I enjoyed a side of luscious marinara mostly as
soup!

Fried okra
spears at Bubba, left. Cut in
strips they're more fibrous than sliced in half-inch pieces.
Served with sides of remoulade and charred lemon aioli, the
latter is superb! That and nearby Django's curry
ketchup would be my ideal dipping sauces. Right, A five-buck
Happy Hour priced slug of Bulleit
rye is
hard to pass up. Its got some oak and spice to it.

Sometimes
the simple things suffice, like this Campari and
soda, left. Asking for a twist was a good call, aromatic lemon
oils offered a citrusy contrast to the slightly sweet bitterness
of the apΓ©ritif. Right, I'll take Johnnie
Walker's Rye Cask Finish over Red or Black
any day. Its amazing!
