Boozing in the DSM: Exile, Peace Tree, more...

Left: Exile Brewing's Strawberry Bohemian is legit. Refreshingly tart. 5.0% ABV. Center: PiΓ±a Colada gose is fruity AF. Sugary pineapple dominates. 5.2% ABV. Horizon Line coffee porter, right, exhibits a solid flavor and aroma. I can smell the roasted bean!

Left: Mile Long American pale lager at Peace Tree Brewing, Des Moines Branch. This should have been your elders' beer, and not some barely passable adjunct. 5.0% ABV. Whiff that subtle smoky aroma before you quaff Peace Tree's rye porter, right. Roasty yet bright flavor, not too spicy from the rye. 6.0% ABV.

Left: From the last keg of Hop Sutra, a Belgian-style DIPA, 9.0% ABV, 125 IBU. Center: 'Tis the Saison! Belgian-style Saison 103 to be precise. Bright, floral, smooth drinking. 5.74% ABV. Roasted malt meets hops with Peace Tree's Indecision American dark IPA, right. 100 IBU, 7% ABV.

Left: Reflecting on the creamy head of this liter of Ayinger Celebrator at Hessen Haus. I miss the little plastic goat adornment though. Drinking Frank's [Burdette] Dirty martinis at The Lift, center. Right: Lion Bridge Brewing's Nitro Olde No. 17 dry Irish stout. Its “mother’s milk” with a wee tang. Smooth on the palate, like a lover’s tongue. SlΓ‘inte!
