Eats, drinks in the Western Gateway

Left, Appetizers at The Walnut with jalapeΓ±o cream cheese stuffed mushrooms, zucchini, and a sweet chili glaze. Smoky grilled flavor pairs with the zesty glaze. Right, The Walnut's ice cream: walnut cookie dough with Hawaiian sea salt! Toothy pieces of walnut, soft salt crystal crunch, plus doughy chunks equates to textural nirvana. Delightful balance of sweet and salty rests on the palate like a sexual afterglow.

Left, A tasty Gibraltar at Horizon Line Coffee, a 1:1 ratio of double-shot espresso and steamed milk. When you want some milk to round out the flavor but don’t want the extra of either a cappuccino or latte. Right, Vegan double chocolate cookie with Horizon Line's filter brew house roasted coffee. Quite a treat!

Left, Give to me all the lime ends you’d otherwise toss. I like my Cuba Libre extra citrusy. Right, The new digs for the downtown Starbucks are nice, but damn your coffee is always tongue burning even with the lightest of sips.
