Beers enjoyed of late

Left, Pineapple and yuzu lemons give LagunitasSour Pineapple–an American Wild [yeast] Ale–a tongue-curling appeal. A very approachable sour ale. 6.10% ABV. Center, A well-poured liter of Ayinger Celebrator at Hessen Haus is a beautiful thing. Drinking at The Walnut and poured a delicious Left Hand Brewing Nitro Milk Stout, right, followed by a can of Guinness Draught and was gobsmacked by how anemic the latter was in comparison. Left Hand was so smooth with a roasty finish. The happy hour price–4 bucks–is icing on the cake!

Robust but mellow, this Tip The Cow cocoa espresso milk stout from Singlespeed Brewing with beans from Sidecar Coffee Roasters. Think chocolate-covered espresso beans sans the crunch. 6.2% ABV, 34 IBU.

Left, Electric Banshee Stout from ReUnion Brewery pours black as the night with a frothy tan head. Flavors of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee abound with a light hoppy bitterness. Lactose and oats lends sweetness, a smooth mouthfeel, and a creamy finish. 6.6% ABV, 35 IBU. Right, ReUnion's sweet Dunkel, a German dark lager, offers malty, bready aromas and flavors, with hints of cocoa and caramel. Subtle hop bitterness. 5% ABV, 20 IBU.
