The Podolak
at Truman's
KC Pizza Tavern suffers not from a lack of toppings, with
Graziano
Brothers' Italian sausage, pepperoni, red bell pepper,
mushroom, onion, and pineapple on a red sauce and mozzarella
build. Ed
Podolak is an Iowan who played college football at the
University of Iowa and was a running back with the Kansas City
Chiefs.

The crust on the Podolak is sturdy, crisp, and
suffers not from sogginess in the middle. Right,
Truman's does onion rings quite well. Hand cut and lightly
floured, these golden strands were crunchy and delicious. This
batch was a bit oily, certainly not dripping; it's a juggling
act to serve rings while still hot. No complaints on the
seasoning.
