Odds and ends in Reno, Part 1

Everyone can see my boxer briefs. At Peppermill Reno.

Left, Flashback to the night before where my dear pal put me up for one night in a luxurious, old school upholstered room at Peppermill Reno. It was quite late and I was apprehensive about the pricey casino restaurant menu so I walked to nearby sketchy 7-Eleven and grabbed Cheetos and a bean burrito for an in-bed meal. Breakfast the next day was also courtesy of the same 7-Eleven where I grabbed a few mini-empanadas filled with egg, cheese, and sausage, plus a gravy-stuffed biscuit. Living the dream! Right, Sampling CBD oil dog treats.

Dinner at Biscotti’s at Peppermill Reno. Left, An avocado egg roll appetizer at featured red onion, cilantro and sun-dried tomato, served with a ginger-cilantro dipping sauce. Pleasant in execution; the zippy dipping sauce livened up the avocado-laden rolls. Right, The enchilada plate offered two flour tortillas filled with choice of cheese (my choice), chicken or beef, topped with green sauce, queso fresco and sour cream. Sauce tasted brightly of tomatillo, the rest was inoffensive in taste and quite filling.

Left, Old man urinal; virtually aim free. At Century Riverside 12 in Reno. Right, I stumbled upon a box of PG Tips in my pal's pantry and made some iced tea. Four bags steeped for two minutes in a quart of hot water made for a strong flavored iced black tea. In later days I settled on one bag in a 12 oz. mug for a decent cuppa. A sure reason to invest in an electric kettle.

I’ve been to this location many times as Java Jungle, but this is my first visit to Café Capello. The Ethiopian was excellent and the pastries were a desirous sight.
