Coffee, comics, crafts, cosplay (and Djonuts) at Capes Kafé.

UPDATE: Capes Kafé closed in Sept. 2018.
Mug o' Hulk; Chewbacca highlighted the Capes Kafé Christmas tree over the holidays; You will be exter-bling-nated!

Doomsday Double, a coffee concentrate served straight up, will wake you up; Housemade melted-marshmallow rice crispy bars, a tasty treat since supplanted by the wildly popular Djonuts [see below].

Godzilla, ever omnipresent at the coffee shop; My entry in Capes Kafé's chili cook-off for charity and Christmas party; Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na…

A Vanilla Almond Pastry from Strudl Haus, My favorite house mug; Dark roast coffee in a Spider-Man mug makes my caffeine-sense tingle.

A Cup O' Kryptonite milkshake, made with mint chocolate ice cream, espresso, and squirts of milk, dark, and white chocolate syrups; barista Sara Briddell rocks the Tank Girl look, while the shop spared no expense for Imperial security at Market Day/Capes' Crafts and Cosplay [see blog post].

Coffee Haikus
Inspired by a cup of dark roast.

Wisps of vapor dance
above the coffee's surface.
The java beckons.

Bitter black liquid
washes past my lips, teeth, tongue.
Warming from within.

Wicked alchemy,
that roasting of the bean. Ma'am?
Pour me another.

What sinister lust,
that bewitching brew enrapts.
Don't mess with my fix.

Spider-Man has met his match against Djonuts' Cherry Carnage [see blog post]; Mystery, Inc. rebooted; Can you wield the universe-shaking power of the Infinity Gauntlet?

Co-owner Curtis Porter is all smiles at Capes Kafé Star Wars Day. With a new Marvel comic release, wares by The Sara Initiative, and coffee!
